Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Sweden

We have started using a completely new PET bottle for our mineral water, Bonaqua Silver. We call it PlantBottle™ because it is made in part of plant material. It consists of 50% reused plastic, about 35% new plastic and about 15% plant material. We think this is an exciting environmental improvement, since the bottle generates a lower CO2 footprint and is both a step away from the use of petroleum-based plastic and a step closer to the bottle of the future.

With a focus on customers and consumers, we create the best beverage organization in a sustainable and profitable fashion. Our brands are Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, MER, Burn, Bonaqua Silver, Powerade, Innocent, glacéau, Monster, Minute Maid and Chaqua. Some 800 persons work at Coca-cola in Sweden, about 650 of whom work in Jordbro outside Stockholm. Here they product approximately 1 million litres of beverages every day. The formula for Coca-Cola was created in 1886 by pharmacist John S. Pemberton in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Coca-Cola was launched in Sweden in 1953.

Responsible resource management is a hygiene factor for the entire global Coca-Cola system, just as much when it comes to energy and transport to when it comes to water, ingredients and packaging. It is a part of our business model and a prerequisite for us to maintain our “license to operate” in over 200 countries. In Sweden we have extra focus on the climate issue and we see positive results so far. Cooperation in the Haga Initiative is part of our continued work towards our challenging climate goals, and a way to show the path forward to others.
