85. Fossil-Free Steel Production: GreenIron H2’s Revolutionary Circular Technology

GreenIron H2 employs groundbreaking technology to produce steel through a hydrogen-based process, resulting in water as the only byproduct. This process utilizes waste materials, such as slag, to create valuable iron and metal raw materials entirely free of fossil fuels. Similarly, in the mining industry, GreenIron converts waste products and byproducts into metal for direct use in steel mills, all done in an eco-friendly manner.

 

GreenIron’s annual iron production from 40, 000 tons input hematite in a single furnace reaches 28,000 tons output hematite, with zero carbon emissions. Compared to traditional methods, emissions would decrease by 56,000 tons, equivalent to 80,000 round trips from Stockholm to New York.
