Logitech is committed to Design for Sustainability by extensively using recycled plastic. In 2023, over 58 percent of Logitech’s product portfolio is manufactured with recycled plastic. This corresponds to a savings of approximately 27,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the products’ lifecycle.
For several years, Logitech has been working on integrating recycled plastic into its products. Previously, it has been a challenge to make ink adhere to recycled plastic while maintaining quality and durability. However, Logitech has recently addressed these challenges by collaborating with suppliers to create a new ink recipe and modify the printing process. This now opens up opportunities to use much more recycled plastic without compromising sustainability, quality, or user experience.
To showcase this progress, Logitech has introduced over 40 new colors applied to the recycled plastics, which are used in products such as mouse, keyboards, webcams, and speakers. These new plastics are now also made available to other companies with the goal of reducing the industry’s climate impact.
