In Africa alone, 16 million tonnes of cashews is being spoiled every year in connection with the harvest of cashews, which results\u00a0in a huge food waste. For every 10 kilos of cashews consumed today, 90 kilos of fully edible and nutritious cashews are thrown away, which\u00a0has\u00a0been seen as a waste product until now. The consumption of cashews increase\u00a0by about 40 percent per year, along with the food waste of all the\u00a0discarded\u00a0cashews as well. This new\u00a0vegetarian\u00a0meat are being\u00a0made from the pulp of the cashew apple, which results in a reduction of\u00a0food waste.
