Progressive companies for more ambitious climate policy – How Nordic business can move global policy towards 1.5 degrees

On September 11th 2018, the Haga Initiative arranged an affiliated event in Stockholm. The event was one of three European seminars arranged within the Global Climate Action Summit held in San Fransisco on September 12-14, 2018. See a brief film from the event below:

Large export companies in the Nordics see a clear connection between climate action and profitability, since it gives strategic possibilities to create new business opportunities, a more attractive brand and reduced costs, according to a report from April this year. The companies want policies to be more ambitious and are also looking to scale up their initiatives to influence strategies on a global level.

  • How can business contribute to realize the target of 1.5 degrees?
  • How progressive are the Nordics in the climate action in a global context?
  • How can the Nordics spread its solutions for a faster global transition?
  • Why do Nordic businesses see climate action as a vital business strategy?

The Haga Initiative is a business network that wants to see a profitable business sector without climate impact. The 15 member companies have together set the target of reaching net-zero emissions by 2030. Read more about our commitments here.
