34. Rescued coffee saves 120 tonnes of carbon dioxide

Sometimes roasting of coffee beans does not go exactly as planned, and is an example of when perfectly good coffee beans cannot be sold as intended. This is where the sustainability initiative Räddat Kaffe comes into the picture. By using different types of coffee that otherwise risked being wasted, Löfberg’s coffee experts created unique blends that was sold at Circle K stations around the country. An unnecessary waste of the earth’s resources could be avoided which is good for the environment, and Circle K could offer its customers coffee with completely unique flavors and aromas.First year of Räddat Kaffe:
  • In total, 26 tonnes of coffee beans have been saved from being wasted
  • The investment ensures a saving of approx. 120 tonnes of CO2
  • The use of pesticides is reduced by 200 kg
  • An area equivalent to 48 football pitches is converted to sustainable production
