Gröna Lund and Coca-Cola, Sweden want to be able to offer theme park guests new sustainable ways to consume drinks. In a joint pilot project, visitors will therefore be able to choose a refillable cup instead of disposable cups in several places in the park. The pilot project, which is being evaluated in a study by Chalmers Industriteknik, hope to find a new circular solution that means a reduced climate footprint from packaging and a change in consumer behaviour.
The concept means that Gröna Lunds visitors can choose a reusable mug and fill up their favorite drink themselves at one of the park’s filling stations. In addition to making the drink more affordable for the guests, the mug becomes part of a sustainable circular system as it can be reused throughout the visit and then returned before going home to be washed and then used again.
