96. Spin It Again – as SKF focuses on circularity

Bearings are found in almost everything that rotates, such as bicycles, cars, washing machines, helicopters, space rockets, wind turbines, and paper machines, to name a few examples. SKF is investing in a remanufacturing center in Gothenburg as part of its efforts to promote a circular economy. By remanufacturing a bearing instead of manufacturing a new one, energy use can be reduced by up to 90 percent.

SKF is a global leader in bearing manufacturing with operations in over 130 countries. Last year, SKF in Sweden remanufactured 42 tons of bearings, resulting in a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 120 tons.
